The conversion arrangements have been drafted with the following principles in mind:

  • any passes obtained by students under the previous scheme will gain credit in the new examination scheme and
  • students who failed any papers at the last sitting of the previous scheme (i.e. June 2001) will not have to sit any radically new papers.

All students registered on the current examination scheme (i.e. all those who registered with ACCA before 1 January 2001) will be automatically transferred to the new scheme in August 2001 and notified of their position on the new scheme at that time. Papers passed will be credited as shown in the table below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Option papers 3.1 and 3.4 do not have direct equivalents under the previous scheme and therefore are not included in the conversion rules.

Credit will be given on a paper-for-paper basis for completed examinations on the previous scheme up to, and including, paper 11. The following rules will apply for students who are in the process of taking the previous Professional Stage:
